A message from Dr Dee

Dear Chicopee Hills Family,
 
I have some news to share with you…January 27th 2024 is a big day as I will be saying goodbye to all of you and moving onto phase 2 of my life (I won’t call it retirement)!
 
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing me to help care for your fur family for the past 26 years. It’s hard to process that so many years have passed! I use the word family because you have been such an important part of my professional life as we have gotten to know each other through your fur baby/babies. I have celebrated with you when you introduced me to your new 4 legged family members, cried with you during those difficult goodbyes and supported you through the years in between.  It has been a true privilege to be a part of your health care team and I am very grateful for the trust that you have placed in me.
 
Pet Lovers are really the best kind of people!  When I started out as a newly graduated veterinarian in 1986, it was solving medical puzzles and doing surgery that really caught my interest.  But I soon realized that it is the pets and their people that make this profession so wonderful.  I love the stories about how you spend time with your beloved pets and watching that loving bond grown and flourish.  Thank you for helping to create memories that I will cherish for years to come.
 
Dr. Ellie and I opened the doors to Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital on February 10, 1997 and I am very happy that Dr. Shirley Chen has taken the helm.  She and the Chicopee Hills team will continue to provide the compassionate, knowledgeable and consistent care that you have come to expect for your fur family.
 
And so, it is on to the next phase for me.  I look forward to spending more time with my daughters who live in Ottawa and Montreal as well as enjoying the outdoors and my garden.  I suspect pickleball will also feature prominently!
